Welcome to the second Friday Night Mass of this blog. The mass went well last week, but there could have been a few more people in attendance. In fact, there could have been some people in attendance. You know that feeling you get when you feel as though you’re talking to yourself. Yeah – that. Anyway, onwards and upwards. I want to build this congregation up, and that’s what I’ll do. This church roof won’t fix itself. So, lets have a look at those trades:
Newcastle vs Brentford
Hmm, this is a tough one to call. Not sure whether I’m going to stay away from this or not. At the current odds and using the stats I’ve pulled together, I’d go for the correct scores 2-0 and 2-1. The 1-0 scoreline has been identified as the better pick, but I’d rather stay away from low scorelines. I’d rather there be a goal and hope there will be another, rather than there to be a goal and hope there won’t be another. I possibly need to have a bit more confidence in the stats, rather than going with my gut instinct. I’ll revisit the odds 30 minutes out from kick-off and see if there are any major changes to the predicted correct scoreline before committing.
Chelsea vs Wolves
I like the feel of this game. AOH (any other home), 2-0, and 1-0 are all identified as likely scorelines. I’d even chuck in the 2-1 scoreline in there too, just as insurance. I don’t expect Chelsea to score 4 or more. They’re good, but they’re not ‘4 goals’ good. So I’d probably hedge that scoreline. 2-0 seems a more probable scoreline, so I’m going to concentrate my picks around that scoreline and see how I go.
Man City vs Southampton
I’d say AOH on this, as that’s the obvious choice. It’s the selection that comes out on top of my stats, and by a big distance too. Having looked at the odds (currently 2.28) though, there really isn’t any value in this choice. I’ll probably stay away from this game.
Brighton vs Spurs
This is the evening kick off, so I may be all traded out at this point. The stats don’t really give too much up for this game, apart from the 1-1 scoreline. All the other scorelines are much of a muchness. So a possible 1-1, with 2-1 and 1-2 either side of it.
I’d probably stay away from the Bournemouth vs Leicester game as I view that as one of the more unpredictable games being played on Saturday. That it from me for now. Good night and God bless. Amen my betting brethren.
