Using the Gods to beat the odds.

Confession – 17th Oct ’22

Confession time again. So time to look at the weekend trades and see how I did, what I could improve on, and what went well. First up I’m going to hold my hands up and admit that I didn’t get to do as much trading as I would have liked due to it being my partners birthday and I was doing a lot of running around. I managed to do one trade on Saturday and a late trade on Sunday and here’s how they went:

Spurs vs Everton
As mentioned in the Friday Mass, I decided to go for the scorelines of 2-0 and 2-1, but opted not to hedge the AOH. Due to time constraints, when Spurs went 1-0 up I decided to trade out and take the green. I should have stayed in for a longer time period but because I couldn’t give the trade my full attention I decided it would be best to trade out. Overall profit for this trade was £6.61.

Liverpool vs Man City
As you might remember from the Friday night mass I predicted Man City to run riot. I did not expect a Liverpool win at all. Before kick-off the main scoreline positions I took were 0-2, 1-2, 1-3, AOA, and 2-1 (as a precaution). Some of these positions were hedged. As you can see, these scorelines were heavily weighted towards a City victory. I did make a note to myself before the match kicked off, that should it get to 65 minutes and there wasn’t a goal, that I would trade out and take the loss. And sure enough, it did get to 65 minutes without a goal being scored, so I decided to trade out. This was for a small red. I also mentioned on Friday that should Liverpool score, that I would lay them. Due to the goal being scored in the latter stages of the game I decided not to follow through with my suggestion. Should the goal have been scored earlier in the game, then I probably would have laid Liverpool as City would have had a bit more time to find an equaliser. Overall loss for this game was -£1.51.

Here’s a screenshot of my weekend trades, along with a trade I did for Monday nights game of Forest vs Villa:

Football trades from 10th October – 16th October

Looking at the trades I’m quite happy with how they went. I’m happy that I traded out of the Liverpool game for a small loss, as this could have resulted in an even bigger loss than what was actually experienced. This ensures the trading bank is kept healthy and that I also didn’t suffer a blow to my confidence. If you don’t think a trade is going well, it’s always best to get out and fight for another day, rather than stay in the trade and hope it comes good.

The thing that is probably eating away at me is the fact that I’m not letting my winners run, meaning that my profit doesn’t reach it’s full potential. It’s still early days in my journey though, so hopefully that side of my trading will vastly improve the more I trade and the more confident I become. I think better time management will help with this.

My total trading profit for the weekend amounted to £5.10. Including the Monday night trade profit of £1.72, that totals £6.82 for the week. Adding this to my total profit of £19.66 since my journey begun, I’ve made £26.48. I’m happy with the progress made, but know I need to lift this if I’m going to make any serious money.

That’s all for tonight my betting brethren. I’m probably going to have a midweek mass tomorrow night to take a look at Wednesday’s games and any possible trades. So please stay tuned. Amen!
