Good news. And bad news. I did as I said on Wednesday night and tackled the Crystal Palace vs Man Utd game in an aggressive and confident manner, with the view that if things went pear-shaped, then I would cut my losses and get out. With this mindset I reaped the rewards with my biggest green day since this season began. I stayed away from my typical smaller stakes and upped my total liability to £40, and I came away with a £25.49 green. Happy days!
But then came the one step back. With my renewed confidence and positive attitude, I decided to trade on the Man City vs Spurs game last night. Unfortunately, with Spurs going two goals to the good before half-time, due to the correct scores I had chosen, I had to trade out and take the loss. I did have 1-2 covered, and AOH covered also, but if Spurs had scored the next goal to make it 0-3, I would have been looking at an approximate £33 loss with only the AOH to cover my ass. So, the sensible thing to do was to get out of the trade and accept the £12.90 loss. I’m quite happy with how I reacted to this, as I believe this was the right thing to do.
So, here are my last few trades from this week, from 17th Jan to 19th Jan 2023:

As you can see, overall I was pretty much break even over the 3 days. Yes, the title of this post may be a bit misleading, but I had catered for the Wolves/Liverpool loss in the post prior to this, and as such I was only going from the Wednesday night trades onwards. Overall I’m still down. This is my overall profit and loss, with week 11 (so far) included:

I am going to be approaching this weekend’s games with a similar positive and confident attitude towards the market. Looking at the Liverpool vs Chelsea game I think I’ll be laying Liverpool, depending on their line-up. I can see this being a draw, or Chelsea just edging it. I don’t think either side has been particularly impressive this season, but I can see both teams raising their game for this fixture. It should be a good game, with both teams needing a win to improve their top 4 chances.
The other game on Saturday that I’ll be looking at is Palace vs Newcastle. I’ll be approaching this in a similar way to the Palace vs United game, so check out that post to see what positions I took up on that. Good luck my followers on any bets you’re doing this weekend, and May the Lord be with you. Always!
