Using the Gods to beat the odds.

Results For Week 18

Hmm! Bit of a weird week. Weird as in the sense that I have achieved a very low 2-digit profit figure and I’m still feeling a little downbeat. I should be happy. I am happy. I’m just not as happy as I was when I was making 3-digit greens! I’m jesting. I’m grateful. I really am. Especially as it seems I may have dodged a bullet. A big £150 red bullet. It just shows you how mental the trading game can really be. Here’s the P&L for week 18, which worked out to be £14.25:

I posted on Sunday about going out with the family to a theme park, so I might not have had an opportunity to trade. Well, I discussed it with the partner and we decided that taking the laptop wasn’t the best idea, just in case it went missing. My second option was just to decide on the trades before leaving the house, and then put the trades on nearer the time. Well, I did have the trades noted for when the time came about, but when I went to put the trades on, my mobile internet connection was not the best so I decided not to trade at all. I didn’t want to put myself in a position that I couldn’t get myself out of. I knew to quit whilst I was ahead. Sure I was settling for a small green for the week, but it was green all the same.

So, what would have happened had I not gone on a family day out? Well, looking at the stats and possible trades I would have done, I would probably be looking at a £150 loss. As mentioned in my Sunday Mass blog post I would have traded the United vs Southampton game, and the Fulham vs Arsenal game, and I would have been at a loss of £150 (£75 for each game). In my Sunday Mass blog post, I did also post my correct scores for the West Ham vs Aston Villa game, one of which was the actual match result. But looking further into it, I probably wouldn’t have traded that game, so I wouldn’t have profited from it. So, when I look at how my trading week COULD have gone, I should be very thankful for the small green I did actually manage to gain. Oh, and by the way, the family day out was great. The good thing was I had no pressure to trade as I didn’t have a laptop with me and I couldn’t get a good mobile internet connection, so I could just spend some quality time with the family and just focus on having some fun. Sometimes it’s weird how the trading gods work.

Anyway, here’s my updated tables and graphs for week 18:

I’m hopefully going to try and do some trading midweek as well as the weekend. Fingers crossed I post some nice green figures. If you’re trading I wish you all luck. And remember, may the Lord be with you. Always.
