Rollocks. Rollocks, rollocks, rollocks! The last 2 days have been crazy on the trading front. It’s like I’ve been hit by a 2-tonne truck. I’ve took significant losses but I’m not getting too disheartened as it’s all part of the dance. Saturday I started with a £26 loss for the City vs Liverpool match, as I decided to trade out early for that game, so that was a trading point loss. Then I decided to take my laptop out to catch some last minute trading before I went out for my drinky-poos. The trades were a fire-and-forget trade on the Brighton vs Brentford game, and a similar fire-and-forget trade on the Arsenal vs Leeds match. One came in but the other one never. This amounted to a total loss of around £35, which was almost 1.5 trading points. The thing is, the trade that came in was the AOH for the Arsenal match, which was low odds. If any other CS trade had come in I would have been laughing, and I would have been looking at a small green for the day due to the typically larger odds.
Sunday I then traded the Newcastle vs Man Utd and I ended up taking a loss for that as well. this was for around £35, so that was another 1.5 trading points (or thereabouts). So all in all a pretty drastic weekend of trading. I’m not too bothered though, as this is all part and parcel of sports trading. You have losing weeks and you have winning weeks. And I’ve been expecting a losing week for some time now, so I’ve just got to roll with it. The most important thing is to not stop, but to keep on going and come out of the other side. Hopefully in a couple of week’s time, or even sooner, this will be a distant memory and I’ll be laughing about it. If I look at it objectively, the fire and forget loss of £75 made up the main percentage of my £100 loss, so the other £25 was just a trading point. So the reality is that I’m only 1pt down for the weekend. The fire-and-forget trades should prove profitable in the long term, and already are if you look back at the last 5 weeks or so. So with this in mind, I’m not going to beat myself up about it, and I’ll move onto the next trade which will probably be tonight’s match between Everton and Spurs. It should be an interesting encounter. You would think Spurs will come out on top for this game, but there could be a little surprise. I’ll have a look at the stats later this evening and trade accordingly. Good luck if you’re going to be trading tonight too. And remember, may the Lord be with you. Always.
