Results for Week 21

Well, if Week 20 was a big kick in the knackers, Week 21 was a sweet, sweet angel kissing them better! I got off to a flyer with all 3 correct scores coming in on Tuesday night. After that, I could trade without fear, knowing full well I’d have a great week even if a few losses were incurred. Fortunately the trades I did on Saturday all came in. On Sunday, I stayed away from the Liverpool vs Arsenal match as in the end I couldn’t call it, and I think if I did trade it I might have had a small green as I would have had 1-2 still alive going into the closing stages of the game. But without actually trading it, I couldn’t say for sure. The Leeds vs Crystal Palace just didn’t come off at all. But I’m not too sure how many people would have guessed Palace would have scored 5 goals. As mentioned in the Sunday Mass blog post on the day, I opted for the correct scores I stated (1-0, 1-1, 0-0), and with these being low scores, my trades were blown out of the water shortly after half time.

Anyway, without further delay, here is a breakdown of my trades for Week 21:

A massive green of £583.82! I couldn’t believe it when I seen the results. The thing is, with how things were going before Tuesday night, I was trading out of my selections early and then those selections were coming in. I’ve even discussed in a prior blog post about the dilemma I’ve been having lately of coming out of/staying in trades (research still pending). On Tuesday, I decided to leave my trades to run. I knew the Chelsea vs Liverpool game was going to come in from watching the match, but didn’t realise the other 2 games were going to come in too! So obviously when I looked and noticed that they did come in I was absolutely chuffed to bits. I’m even going to say I don’t think I’ll be topping that weekly amount for a good while. I’d love to be proved wrong, but I just don’t see it.

So, with that big green, here’s how it measures up to my other weekly profit and loss amounts, and also a cumulative picture of my journey so far:

Well, it’s looks as though the £1K mark has been smashed. I may dip below it and go above it a couple more times until the end of the season as I experience a losses and profits. So I’m getting too far ahead of myself until I’m well clear of the £1K mark. But it’s a milestone nonetheless and I’m extremely happy with the progress I’ve made so far. Before Christmas I was pretty much breaking even and it seemed really weird winning, then losing, then winning, then losing. But after the World Cup my trading has just seemed to go from strength to strength. I’m not sure whether that’s because there’s been a few surprises in the Premier League this season (Liverpool and Chelsea performing below par, Newcastle and Brighton playing well, etc, etc…) or whether my trading has just improved. I think it’s more the former than the latter, as we’ve now had a while to assess each team, so we know which trades to place without too many nasty surprises hitting us. Whatever it is, long may it continue.

I’ll have a look at the trades tomorrow and hopefully post something up before Saturday’s matches. Good luck if you are trading. And may the Lord be with you. Always.
