Look away now if you are squeamish. This week was not a good week. I took a big old red of…-£277!!! Not good. But, these were mainly made up of fire and forget bets, and the good thing being, is that I never wavered and I continued to stick to my staking plan and not lower my stakes when things were getting a bit on the minus side. Here’s a breakdown of this weeks trades:

The sad thing is, when I was looking at the Bible (my stats book) I noticed that there was a trade that I should have identified and taken, but I didn’t, meaning I lost out on a potential £150 green. That would have lessened this weeks loss somewhat. The reason why it wasn’t picked up, was because the process I run to identify potential trades differs from another process that creates the results. I thought that both processes were picking from the same dataset, but it turns out they don’t. Similar stats, but one’s a smaller dataset than the other, hence the difference in results. I’ve changed that now so they both use the same datasets. So hopefully no more missed trades in the future.

Well, Week 23 sees the biggest loss I’ve experienced so far on this trading journey. It’s weird to think, 2 years ago I would have been mortified at losing that much money in a week. But now it’s all just part of the ride. Maybe it’s because I’m still in good profit that I’m not bothered about it. And it’s not like I’ve spent that profit either. I’ve kept the profit aside exactly for situations like this. I don’t now have to dip into my savings account to find the extra dough. I just take it out of my trading bank. As you can see, I’ve still got £841 in there, so I’m still happy with how things have gone.

What I’m maybe not happy with, is the fact that I’ve dipped below the £1,000 milestone which I was hoping that I wasn’t going to. Oh well! It just makes me more determined to get back over it again, hopefully before the season ends.
