Well, if the big fella had my back last week, he was pissing all over it this week! I managed to dodge a bullet the previous weekend by not being able to trade when there were losses, and then when I could trade I seemed to hit a load of winners.
A big loss of £180+ saw my trading bank take a massive hit. With three weeks of profit I was expecting a hit, but just not a hit this big. Here’s a breakdown of some of those trades from week 22 (6th May – 12th May – sorry the post is a bit late):

I was going to title this blog post “Sunday, Bloody Sunday”, and if you look closely at the losing trades, you’ll see why. Sunday was the reason that this week was so bad. When I looked at Sunday in isolation, it was responsible for a £184 loss! And this is the strange bit, I seemed to get the impression that Sunday was typically a good trading day, as this is when the winners usually came in. It just goes to show, where and when you get these winners can be truly random, and when you look at it objectively, there should be no reason why your trading should be more profitable on one particular day over another.
So, how does this week compare to my other trading weeks, and how’s that effected my overall trading journey:

It’s my fifth highest loss of the season, so quite a big loss when compared to the other weeks. It’s higher than my average loss of £134. I’d be lying if I said it was a figure I looked at and I wasn’t concerned about it. But, at least it was under the £200 mark (which psychologically can affect me). When I incur a loss, I always look at these things and compare it against a block of 4 weeks or so, and see if any profit was made. If there’s no profit then I’m disappointed, as I see all that work wiped out and wonder what it was all for. If I see that I’m still in profit then I’m not too bothered.
So, looking at my journey overall, am I going to make a profit this season? On the basis of this week’s loss, then you’d have to say ‘no’. But if you knew how much money I have made this week, then you might change your answer <INSERT WINKING EMOJI HERE>. Stay tuned for my next blog post when I will reveal how I’ve done for week 23. I’ll let you in on a little secret – I’m doing really, really well so far, but that could all change by Monday night (as regular readers (all two of you) of this blog know all too well).
So, with that, I wish you all well in your trading this weekend. And may the Lord be with you. Always!
