Confession time again. So time to look at the weekend trades and see how I did, what I could improve on, and what went well. I only managed to carry out one trade on Saturday, and this was the Chelsea vs Wolves game. It was the only game that my stats gave a strong indication of what the potential scoreline would be (2-0) whilst also offering good value. For the Man City game, I did mention in the Friday Night Mass post that I thought AOH (any other home) was an obvious scoreline choice, but I didn’t think that it offered enough value. Because of this I unfortunately stayed away from it. And for the Brighton vs Spurs game when I revisited the stats there wasn’t really a clear angle to take, so I decided to focus all my attention on the Chelsea vs Wolves game instead. For the Sunday games I was still recovering from being ill on the Saturday night/Sunday Morning, so I only got onto the late kick-off game which was Everton vs Man Utd.
Chelsea vs Wolves
As mentioned in my Friday Night Mass post, The 2-0 scoreline looked a good choice from my stats, so I decided I would take up this position and pick a few other scorelines around it. This worked out well for me as 2-0 was hit, albeit a little bit earlier than I would have liked. Despite covering scores around 2-0, I did not have 3-0 covered. With this in mind, and the fact that I my attention was being required elsewhere, I decided to trade out for £4.68.
Everton vs Man Utd
The early goals in this game killed my trade. Pre-match, using my stats, I had identified 1-2 as a good scoreline to trade and I consequently backed it. The only problem being was that it was 1-1 at 15 minutes. Being 1-1 so early in the game meant that my trade was in the red and I was looking at a small loss. Yes, if I gave the trade time to breathe that red would slowly turn into a green the longer the game on without anyone scoring another goal. But if Everton managed to score the next goal then my trade was completely dead in the water, with no amount of praying reviving it. Because of this I decided to trade out and accept the loss of £1.18.
West Ham vs Fulham
I did a little playing around in this game. Nothing gained from it though and I broke even.
Here’s a screenshot of my weekend trades:

So overall I managed to post a small green of £3.50. I’m alright with this as it’s all profit at the end of the day. Much better than a loss. There’s not much I am too disappointed with apart from the usual. My confidence still needs a boost, and I could have done with a lot less distractions on the Saturday trade. I’m disappointed I was ill on Saturday night/Sunday morning but there wasn’t anything I could do about this. The trades I ‘paper traded’ (traded but didn’t put any actual money on) I did quite well in. So I’m glad I called them correctly, but gutted I didn’t put any real money on. The loss I experienced in the Everton vs Man Utd game is the kind I’ve come to accept. If I didn’t trade out when I did, then I could have been looking at an even bigger loss should there have been a goal. In those situations I find it’s better to trade out and take the small loss, rather than not doing so and facing an even bigger loss. So whilst I’m disappointed with the loss, I’m made up with how I reacted. Total profit on my trading journey so far is £19.66 which I’m very happy with.
So that’s it really. The confidence needs working on, but I was happy with my trades. I’m off to say three Hail Marys for my penance. Next week I hope to look at possibly staying in trades a bit longer and trusting my stats a lot more, and seeing better profit-lines as a result. I may post something mid-week if I have anything exciting to say. Till then, Amen my betting brethren.
